“Uzbekistan - the country of crafts” (10 days / 9 Nights)
Tashkent - Bukhara - Gijduvan- Samarkand - Tashkent Gizhduvan is located in 46 km from Bukhara. This city was always the significant center of crafts. One of which is the method of the production of ceramics. The gizhduvanian schools are famous for their ornament with the combining of geometric figures. Because of their history, the schools can show the different methods of the production of the ceramics: the preparation of clay, the production of different ceramic figures and their painting, kilning at a temperature 1000 °. The families of craftsmen preserved to the present day only two kind of crafts: ceramics and traditional embroidery. “Syuzani” is being embroidered on the cotton fabric by silk threads. In the course of time this craft acquired national nature and it became one of the important crafts of gijduvanian women. There is also embroidery not only on the cotton fabric by silk threads, but also on the silk cloth by silk threads.
